Snow in Menorca

The intense cold continental wave has left two snowfalls in Menorca during the first fifteen days of February, with historical temperatures.

The Siberian cold wave ended on Monday the same way it arrived to Menorca, with plenty of snow and temperatures close to 0º. Es Mercadal, Ferreries, Alaior and Es Migjorn started the day with the streets and countryside covered with several inches of snow.
The first hours of the day were, in fact, the coolest, because throughout the day temperatures were rising and the snow level was situated above 400 meters, marking the end of the cold weather in Menorca.

With an average temperature of 4.8 º since the beginning of February, the island has experienced two remarkable snowfalsl in less than two weeks; an unprecedented milestone has been accompanied by strong gusts from the north, with a chill wind.

El frío intenso de la ola continental ha dejado dos nevadas en Menorca durante los primeros quince días del mes de febrero con temperaturas históricas.

La ola de frío siberiano se despidió el lunes de Menorca del mismo modo en que se presentó a principios de febrero, con nieve en abundancia y temperaturas cercanas a los cero grados centígrados. Es Mercadal, Ferreries, Es Migjorn y Alaior amanecieron con las calles y la campiña cubiertas por varios centímetros de nieve, después de que sobre las dos de la madrugada empezara a nevar con intensidad.

Las primeras horas del día fueron, de hecho, las más frías, puesto que a lo largo del día las temperaturas fueron ascendiendo y la cota de nieve se situó sobre los 400 metros de altitud, marcando el final de la ola de frío en Menorca.

Con una temperatura media de 4,8 grados centígrados desde que empezó febrero, la Isla ha vivido dos nevadas destacables en una semana y media, un hito sin precedentes que ha venido acompañado de fuertes rachas de tramontana, con una sensación térmica a ratos incluso extrema.

Has two three bedroom apartments and a four bedroom apartment. The three bedroom apartments have a complete independent kitchen, lounge/living-room, complete bathroom, one bedroom with a double bed and fitted wardrobes, one with two single beds and fitted wardrobe and one bedroom with bunk beds. The four bedroom apartment has a complete independent kitchen, lounge/living-room, complete bathroom, little bathroom, one bedroom with a double bed and fitted wardrobes, two bedrooms with two single beds and fitted wardrobes and one bedroom with bunk beds.

All three apartments have private terrace, two of them with direct access to the beach. You can also access the beach using the stairway by the side of the building.

Jardín Playa es un edificio de 3 apartamentos situado en un lugar privilegiado, sobre la playa de la urbanización de Arenal d´en Castell.

Dispone de dos apartamentos de tres dormitorios y uno de cuatro dormitorios.Los apartamentos de tres dormitorios, tienen cocina completa e independiente, salón comedor, baño completo, un dormitorio con cama de matrimonio y armario empotrado, otro dormitorio con dos camas individuales y armario empotrado y un dormitorio con litera. Los tres apartamentos disponen de terrazas privadas, dos de ellas con acceso directo a la playa. También se puede acceder a la playa por la escalera lateral del edificio.

Cova d´en Xoroi

Cova d´en Xoroi

Cova d’en Xoroi is a natural cave located in Cala en Porter, on the south coast of Menorca. You can visit both day and night.

The cave is named after Xoroi, according to a legend, a stranger who had come to the island, kidnapped a girl and took her to the cave.
One winter’s day, the island dressed in unusual snow and footprints in the snow led the farmers to Xoroi´s cave. The armed men entered the cave, and found Xoroi and the girl had three children. At being cornered, Xoroi and his eldest son, jump off the cliff to the sea.
His wife and two children were taken to Alaior, where it is said that  the descendants of the couple are still living.
At present the Cova d’en Xoroi is a place of leisure where you can have a snack in the morning; relax in the afternoon with chill out music and dancing at night.

It has a balcony with spectacular views, from which you can contemplate the sunrise, sunset and the spell of the moon.
