Para celebrar el 300 aniversario de la isla del Rey visitaran la isla los RAF, grupo acrobático de la Real Fuerza Aérea, conocidos como los “Red Arrows”

Estarán en Menorca el 25 y 26 de mayo y partiran el 27 de mayo.

El grupo acrobático de la Royal Air Force, con base en RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, Inglaterra, fue creado en 1964. Los Red Arrows muestran las aeronaves en su caracteristica formacion “Diamante Nueve”, equipada por siete Folland Gnat de entrenamiento que fueron heredados de la patrulla RAF Yellowjacks.

Esta aeronave fue elegida porque era más barata de operar que otros cazas.

En su primera temporada, volaron en 65 shows aéreos por Europa. En 1966, el grupo fue incrementado a nueve miembros, permitiéndoles desarrollar su formación “Diamante Nueve”. A finales de 1979, cambiaron por la aeronave de entrenamiento BAE Hawk.

Los Red Arrows han representado más de 4.000 actuaciones por todo el mundo en 53 países

To mark the 300 years anniversary of “La isla del Rey” in Menorca the R.A.F.´s world-famous aerobatic, the Red Arrows, will visit the island.

The team will put on a full display on 25th and 26th of May and will be departing the 27th of May.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team based in RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, England, was created in 1964. The Red Arrows badge shows the aircraft in its characteristic diamond nine formation, equipped with seven Folland Gnat training which were inherited from the RAF patrol Yellowjacks.

This aircraft was chosen because it was cheaper to operate than other fighters.

In his first season, flew in 65 air shows in Europe. In 1966, the group was increased to nine members, enabling them to develop their training “Diamond Nine”. In late 1979, changed the BAE Hawk trainer aircraft.

The Red Arrows have played over 4,000 performances worldwide in 53 countries.
